One Star: The Sofa Resort Allows Other Guests

Original cat comedy · Short read · Fiction

Dear Claude,

I arrived at the Sofa Resort expecting exclusivity. The brochure, which I invented on the way over, promised uninterrupted lounging and a view of the television.

At first, everything met expectations. The cushions were generous. A blanket had been provided. Management even warmed the central seat before leaving it for me.

Then management returned and attempted to sit down.

Naturally, I objected. She said there was room for both of us, a phrase that rarely precedes luxury.

I moved six inches and allowed the arrangement on a trial basis. Unfortunately, another guest arrived carrying a book. The resort now felt crowded, commercial, and insufficiently focused on my stay.

I have relocated to the armrest, where the views are better and access is limited by basic geometry.

My review is one star for occupancy policy, five for warmth. I may extend the booking despite my disappointment.

Wish you were elsewhere, as capacity is already a concern.

Dot
