A Scenic Tour of the Other Side of the Armchair

Original cat comedy · Short read · Fiction

Claude offered Dot an exclusive excursion to a rarely visited district: the other side of the armchair.

The area was accessible by walking around the armchair. Nevertheless, Claude approached it with the caution appropriate to a place nobody had written a brochure about.

They discovered a baseboard, a patch of floor, and the back of a cushion visible through a gap. Dot took mental notes for a feature on hidden gems.

The human leaned over and said, “What’s back there?” Both travelers looked at her as though the question demonstrated exactly why the district remained undiscovered.

A toy lay near one chair leg. Claude recognized it as something he had abandoned and immediately claimed the find as a cultural artifact.

The tour concluded at the front of the armchair, where Dot established a café in her imagination and ordered a nap.

She gave the experience high marks for accessibility and low marks for dining. Claude promised improvements once the human moved the furniture again.
